Your account, your choice

    Delete your Maa Nest account.

You can do it yourself from inside the app, in about a minute. This page explains exactly what is removed, what we are required to keep, and for how long.

    Delete from inside the app

The same steps for a family account and a caregiver account.

    1. 1

Open Maa Nest and go to Profile

Sign in with the account you want to delete, then open the Profile tab.

    2. 2

      Open Settings

Tap the settings icon in the top-right corner of the Profile screen.

    3. 3

      Tap “Delete Account”

It sits at the bottom of Settings, under “Permanently remove your account and data”.

    4. 4

Tell us why, if you would like to

Choose a reason and add any detail. This is the only thing we ask for, and the sheet’s own button is the confirmation — there is no second gate.

    5. 5

      Confirm

Deletion takes effect immediately. Your account is locked and the categories listed below are removed as part of the request itself.

Finish or cancel a live booking first

If you have a booking that is pending, upcoming or in progress, deletion is refused until it is completed or cancelled. A booking somebody is relying on should not end because an account disappeared underneath it.

Families: this covers any live booking on your account.

Caregivers: it covers bookings you hold as a family. The bookings you hold as a caregiver do not block you — deleting cancels them, and each affected family is refunded under the Refund & Cancellation Policy as a caregiver cancellation.

    If you cannot sign in

Ask us, and we will do it for you.

Write to support@maanest.in from the email address or with the mobile number on the account, and say that you want the account deleted. We act on the request once we have verified who you are — we will not delete an account on the word of someone we cannot confirm is its owner.

Requests are handled within the grievance timeline in Section 18 of the Privacy Policy, unless we tell you why yours needs longer.

What is deleted, and what is kept

Summarising Section 8.1 of the Privacy Policy, which governs.

Deleted when you delete your account

Removed from our live systems as part of the deletion itself, together with the files they point to in our storage. A file that cannot be removed at that moment is queued and removed by our next cleanup run.

    • Your profile and caregiver profile, including photographs, intro video, achievements and certificates
    • Identity and DigiLocker verification records, including the masked Aadhaar value and the verification documents you uploaded
    • Face verification records
    • Children’s profiles you created
    • Emergency contacts
    • Bank account details held for payouts
    • Device push-notification tokens and your in-app notification history
    • Saved sign-in sessions and refresh tokens

A single deletion record is kept

In place of the above we keep one record — your name, your contact details at the time, the roles you held, the reason you gave, and the last four digits of any Aadhaar already held in masked form — so that a later support or legal query about the account can be answered. Your account row itself is retained in a scrubbed, anonymised state, so that records belonging to other people do not break.

    Shared records are not deleted

These belong to the other party to a booking as much as to you, or they are financial and safety records we are required to be able to produce. Where a review you wrote stays published, your name is removed from it.

    • Bookings, including the service address recorded on each booking, and the care information supplied for that booking
    • Payments, refunds, invoices, caregiver earnings, payouts and wallet or reward ledger entries
    • Ratings and reviews, and the messages exchanged between a family and a caregiver about a booking
    • Safety and incident records, including SOS records
    • Fraud and risk records, and the audit log of actions taken on the platform
    • Support and grievance correspondence

    How long things are kept

Where a period is a number of days, that is the period our systems actually apply.

    InformationKept for
Superseded identity documents, where you replaced a document with a newer one30 days, then permanently deleted
One-time codes sent by email10 minutes, then unusable
Sign-in refresh tokensUp to 60 days, or until you sign out or delete your account — whichever comes first
A caregiver’s approximate Instant positionMinutes, expiring by itself. It is never kept as a location history
Financial and tax records — payments, refunds, invoices, earnings and payoutsThe period required by applicable tax, accounting and company law
Safety and incident recordsFor as long as any investigation, claim or legal proceeding is open or may reasonably arise

We do not state a single number for the last two, because the period is set by the law that applies to the record, not by us. Once a period ends, the information is deleted or anonymised, unless applicable law requires it to be kept for longer.
